A time to gather stones:

Today we can build the Third Temple in accordance with the prophecy of Ezekiel

KJV:

1 Then he brought me forth into the utter court, the way toward the north: and he brought me into the chamber that was over against the separate place, and which was before the building toward the north.
2 Before the length of an hundred cubits
was the north door, and the breadth was fifty cubits.

NASB:

1 Then he brought me out into the outer court, the way toward the north; and he brought me to the chamber which was opposite the separate area and opposite the building toward the north.
2 Along the length, which was a hundred cubits, was the north door; the width was fifty cubits.

‫‫‫‫

First of all, at the end of the first verse, "north" should be separated by a comma, because "the north" does not refer to the building (the external building of the Temple, where the storerooms are located), but to the chamber, which is located near the way toward the north.

A place that has a length of 100 cubits and a width of 50 cubits is located in the outer court, on the pavement, which is near the outer wall. This place is fenced off from the rest of the outer court, but the fence has a formal character: a sagging chain hanging on metal posts. These three buildings located on this fenced off site are designed for Levites: two buildings are halls where the Levites have lunch, and the building closest to the inner court is a working locker room for Levites who perform work that requires special clothing.

Due to the fact that the size of this fenced place in the outer court is indicated in Ezekiel's prophecy, we know that the width of each of the 30 buildings on the pavement is 30 cubits: three buildings can be placed at 100 cubits of length if their length does not exceed 30 cubits (we must consider the minimum interval between buildings).

The northern doors are the service entrance to the inner court. This service entrance is used by the Kohanim, as well as singers and other Levites serving on on the outer part of the inner court.

The chambers themselves, to which the angel led the prophet, are buildings intended for the Kohanim. In this building, located in the north-west of the inner court, on the outside on the ground floor there are refrigerators for the Kohanim's share of the meat of peaceful sacrifices; on the inner side is a kitchen where they prepare the meat of sacred sacrifices that only Kohanim can eat; on the second floor there are pantries where sacred clothes for the Kohanim are stored; on the third floor there is a hall where the Kohanim can relax and, if necessary, can hold their working meetings.

KJV:

3 Over against the twenty cubits which were for cubits, and over against the pavement which was for the utter court, was gallery against gallery in three stories.

NASB:

3 Opposite the twenty cubits which belonged to the inner court, and opposite the pavement which belonged to the outer court, was gallery corresponding to gallery in three stories.

This is a very important verse in the prophecy of Ezekiel! This verse is the only time that Ezekiel's prophecy mentions “20 cubits”, and this verse indicates the location of the galleries in the temple complex of the Third Temple.

Until we figured out where this space is located, which has 20 cubits of width, we were not able to correctly determine the length of buildings for the Kohanim and the entire size of the temple complex. A space with a width of 20 cubits is located in the inner court along the western wall of the temple complex, but the level of this space is lower than the height of the rest of the inner court, and it is equal to the height of the pavement in the outer court. Thanks to this, people who are in the inner court near the western wall will be hidden from outsiders by the outer wall.

This space of 20 cubits is used as a place for storing firewood for the altar, a place for storing waste, as well as for other household needs related to the Temple and buildings located in the inner court. Firewood loading and garbage removal is carried out with the help of truck cranes, which drive up to the external wall from the outside. Due to this, for the operation of the temple complex does not require the presence of rear, utility gates.

The second important point in this verse of Ezekiel's prophecy is that we must correct the English translation and remove the extra word: "stories". This word is not in the Hebrew Bible. In fact, it is not about three floors, but about three lines of galleries, when each line of the gallery is perpendicular to the gallery line adjacent to it.

There is one more inaccuracy in the English translation of this verse: the word “against” is appropriate only in the first two cases in this verse, the third time it is more correct to translate it as “face to face”.

From an architectural point of view, these galleries are important, fencing visitors participating in a peaceful meal in the Lord’s House, which has the meaning of communion (the Lord's Supper), from visitors who come to offer sacrifices and pray in front of the House of the Sanctuary.

The roofs of these galleries have solar cells that generate electricity for air conditioners, the cold air from which comes out at the level of visitors' faces, and the water condensed from the air is used for technical needs in buildings.

KJV:

4 And before the chambers was a walk of ten cubits breadth inward, a way of one cubit; and their doors toward the north.

NASB:

4 Before the chambers was an inner walk ten cubits wide, a way of one hundred cubits; and their openings were on the north.

A way with a width of 10 cubits in front of the chambers. In fact, this building has doors not only on the north, but also on the south side, but the north door is the front door. 1 cubit is the size of the gap between the pillars of the galleries and the building. The gallery, which on one side is in contact with the external courtyard, has a lower level of holiness, so there should not be common ground or even any common elements between these buildings. Buildings of varying degrees of holiness cannot be connected by electric wires, cables, water and sewer pipes, they must be completely independent from each other.

KJV:

5 Now the upper chambers were shorter: for the galleries were higher than these, than the lower, and than the middlemost of the building.

6 For they were in three stories, but had not pillars as the pillars of the courts: therefore the building was straitened more than the lowest and the middlemost from the ground.

NASB:

5 Now the upper chambers were smaller because the galleries took more space away from them than from the lower and middle ones in the building.

6 For they were in three stories and had no pillars like the pillars of the courts; therefore the upper chambers were set back from the ground upward, more than the lower and middle ones.

‫‫‫‫

The third floor of buildings for the Kohanim is smaller than the first two floors, because the upper part of the galleries is wider than the space occupied by its pillars. To ensure the necessary level of sanctity of buildings for the Kohanim, these buildings should not be in contact with galleries.

KJV:

7 And the wall that was without over against the chambers, toward the utter court on the forepart of the chambers, the length thereof was fifty cubits.
8 For the length of the chambers that
were in the utter court was fifty cubits: and, lo, before the temple were an hundred cubits.

NASB:

7 As for the outer wall by the side of the chambers, toward the outer court facing the chambers, its length was fifty cubits.
8 For the length of the chambers which were in the outer court was fifty cubits; and behold, the length of those facing the temple was a hundred cubits.

Determination of a wall length of 50 cubits. This wall appears because the level of the service entrance door is below the level of the inner court. This verse was one of the most difficult to understand in Ezekiel's prophecy.

KJV:

9 And from under these chambers was the entry on the east side, as one goeth into them from the utter court.

NASB:

9 Below these chambers was the entrance on the east side, as one enters them from the outer court.

The service entrance is located below, that is, well below the level of the inner court. The service entrance is located on the east side of the building, in the place where the gallery located in the outer court is adjacent to the row of the gallery located in the inner court. This entrance is used by the Kohanim and Levites working on the outside of the inner court.

KJV:

10 The chambers were in the thickness of the wall of the court toward the east, over against the separate place, and over against the building.

NASB:

10 In the thickness of the wall of the court toward the east, facing the separate area and facing the building, there were chambers.

"The separate place" is an area of 100 x 100 cubits where the altar is located. "Building" is the Temple. The width of the space between the line of the front facade of the Temple and the gate allows you to place a building for the Kohanim with a width of 30 cubits.

KJV:

11 And the way before them was like the appearance of the chambers which were toward the north, as long as they, and as broad as they: and all their goings out were both according to their fashions, and according to their doors.
12 And according to the doors of the chambers that
were toward the south was a door in the head of the way, even the way directly before the wall toward the east, as one entereth into them.

NASB:

11 The way in front of them was like the appearance of the chambers which were on the north, according to their length so was their width, and all their exits were both according to their arrangements and openings.
12 Corresponding to the openings of the chambers which were toward the south was an opening at the head of the way, the way in front of the wall toward the east, as one enters them.

‫‫‫‫

The door that is written about here was already mentioned in the prophecy: Ezekiel 40:38. Through this door, the share of the meat from the peaceful sacrifices, which is supposed to be given to the Kohanim, is taken out of the gate and carried to the last building, located near a space of 20 cubits.

KJV:

13 Then said he unto me, The north chambers and the south chambers, which are before the separate place, they be holy chambers, where the priests that approach unto the LORD shall eat the most holy things: there shall they lay the most holy things, and the meat offering, and the sin offering, and the trespass offering; for the place is holy.
14 When the priests enter therein, then shall they not go out of the holy
place into the utter court, but there they shall lay their garments wherein they minister; for they are holy; and shall put on other garments, and shall approach to those things which are for the people.

NASB:

13 Then he said to me, "The north chambers and the south chambers, which are opposite the separate area, they are the holy chambers where the priests who are near to the LORD shall eat the most holy things. There they shall lay the most holy things, the grain offering, the sin offering and the guilt offering; for the place is holy.
14 "When the priests enter, then they shall not go out into the outer court from the sanctuary without laying there their garments in which they minister, for they are holy. They shall put on other garments; then they shall approach that which is for the people."

The first and second floor of buildings located opposite the Temple and the square with the altar are occupied by changing rooms for the Kohanim. Each booth has two washbasins, from the “clean” and “dirty” sides, and also there is a mikveh that cannot be avoided without having been there. On the third floor of the buildings opposite the Temple, there are refectory halls for the Kohanim.

KJV:

15 Now when he had made an end of measuring the inner house, he brought me forth toward the gate whose prospect is toward the east, and measured it round about.
16 He measured the east side with the measuring reed, five hundred reeds, with the measuring reed round about.
17 He measured the north side, five hundred reeds, with the measuring reed round about.
18 He measured the south side, five hundred reeds, with the measuring reed.
19 He turned about to the west side,
and measured five hundred reeds with the measuring reed.
20 He measured it by the four sides: it had a wall round about, five hundred
reeds long, and five hundred broad, to make a separation between the sanctuary and the profane place.

NASB:

15 Now when he had finished measuring the inner house, he brought me out by the way of the gate which faced toward the east and measured it all around.
16 He measured on the east side with the measuring reed five hundred reeds by the measuring reed.
17 He measured on the north side five hundred reeds by the measuring reed.
18 On the south side he measured five hundred reeds with the measuring reed.
19 He turned to the west side and measured five hundred reeds with the measuring reed.
20 He measured it on the four sides; it had a wall all around, the length five hundred and the width five hundred, to divide between the holy and the profane.

Ezekiel left the Temple through the East Gate. The measured value of 500 reeds can in no way relate to the temple complex, because the size of the inner part of the temple complex, from wall to wall, is 520 cubits, and to this we must add the thickness of the walls, 2 x 6 = 12 cubits.

Ezekiel 42. Ezekiel's Temple. Ezekiel’s path through the East Gate to measure the external borders of the Temple.

Of course, there is no way that a territory of this size could be freed from all the buildings and structures on the site of the former temples in Jerusalem. The Third Temple, in accordance with the prophecy of Ezekiel, should be built in the Judean desert (31°29'N 35°15'E), there are no buildings in that place, so we can build the Temple even now.

Ezekiel 42. Ezekiel's Temple. Dimension 500 reeds.

The dimensions of the outer wall around the estate of the Lord God are not indicated in the prophecy of Ezekiel, but we can guess about all the parameters of this wall. The inner part of the Temple, the Tabernacle, according to the prophecy of Ezekiel, has a thickness of 6 cubits, and the external building of the Temple, where the pantries are located, has a wall thickness of 5 cubits. We can use the same ratio to determine the thickness of the walls around the estate: if the thickness and height of the walls around the temple complex are set and equal to 6 cubits, then the thickness and height of 5 cubits will be appropriate for the wall around the estate.

The protrusions of the wall around the estate are necessary to fulfillment another verse: Ezekiel 45:2. According to this verse, Ezekiel's prophecy does not specify the wall thickness between the Lord’s estate, which is 500x500 reeds in size, and an external trading area of 50 cubits wide. We cannot arbitrarily alienate the land for God's possession, therefore the problem is solved simply: half of the wall sections are located on the estate, and the other half of the sections are located on the outside. Thanks to this solution, we are able to measure 500 reeds the size of the estate, and also measure 50 cubits of the width of the trading area, not paying attention to the thickness of the wall between them. Such an architectural solution is very convenient for those who trade on the square, the ledges of the wall allow each seller to have their own space, while the commercial bustle is hidden by the wall from the eye of God.

At the same time, we get 144 protrusions of the wall on each of the four sides. The protrusions themselves symbolize the mutual penetration of God's borders into the external environment, as well as the penetration of our borders into the possession of God. Low gates with sloping surfaces on the sides, as it were, call upon everyone entering this gate to humility: you enter the personal territory of the Lord God.
